Why we use technology in our care planning

The safety, security and wellbeing of your loved ones, who we provide care for, is paramount and our number one priority every day. When someone you are close to is in care with us, you want to make sure that they are in the safest possible place, and the people providing care insure it is done in the most person-focused way.

All our Personal Home Carers (PHCs) make use of our Mobile Care Planning System, it’s a mobile app that helps us manage the care we provide, and includes all our digital care plans, forms, medicine records and key information, so it’s available on the go whenever needed during visits.

This system is helping us ensure our care quality is the best it can be and further help us drive up the way we care, as well as introducing new features to our care. All our monitoring is now digital, we can keep track of all care plans and visits, including what medication has been taken/not taken, any changes in behaviour and even keep family members updated, with our next of kin and family access functionality (Family App).

The security of information is so important, and we can ensure that all service-users personal and confidential information is safely stored within the encrypted cloud servers and only links to the personal file for your relative.

Our Care Planning software has been positively cited in many inspection reports by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulatory body of care in England. The use of digital care management software is widely recognised as a more efficient and safer way to care, reducing admin and paperwork and allowing our carers to spend more time focusing on your relatives and loved ones. A key requirement for achieving a positive CQC rating.

The family app

The Care Planning system we use, will allow family members or close friends access to the records using a similar App on their mobile phones that the Personal Home Carers use. As explained earlier this is totally secure and can only be accessed when our permission has been granted.

Once permission has been granted you will be able to see all the notes from each visit, including the tasks that have been performed during the visit, whether medication has been taken and the notes the Personal Home Carer has made to the general well being of your loved one. You will also be able to leave your own notes, if you require extra tasks to be performed or just to compliment the Personal Home Carer.

This means whether you live far away or just abroad on holiday you can keep in touch with your relative’s health and well-being from your mobile phone.

This option is an additional service available for a small monthly fee.
